Admittedly some scammers are becoming very adept at duping the public out of account information, money and in some cases their entire identity. Every now and then however a scam comes along that's absurd. Here is an excerpt from an official looking phishing email sent to a client. Wisely the client forwarded the email along to our staff because they thought perhaps it wasn't a legitimate notification.
If you can recognise the following techno-babble as a phishing attempt to scam a domain owner out of 65 dollars you're a savvy Internet user!
"This important expiration notification notifies you about the expiration notice of your domain registration for nameremoved.com search engine submission. The information in this expiration notification may contain confidential and/or legally privileged information from the notification processing department of the Domain SEO Service Registration. This information is intended only for the use of the individual(s) named above. If you fail to complete your domain name registration nameremoved.com search engine service by the expiration date, may result in the cancellation of this domain name notification offer notice."
