Using iboza email accounts with Gmail

This article describes how to add your iboza email account into your gmail account.  This will allow you to send and receive all of your email from one location.

Please not that iboza does not support or guarantee using gmail products to collect email and has no control over the availability of this service.  Using these instructions are provided for informational purposes only.

 

1a. Login to your gmail account at http://mail.google.com/mail/

1b. Once you are logged in, click on Settings in the top right corner.

2a. On the Settings screen, click on Accounts and Import.

2b. Under the Check mail using POP3 heading, click Add POP3 email account.

3. Enter your iboza provided email address.  For demonstration purposes, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it has been used.  Once this is done, Click Next Step.

4a. Enter your username as provided to you by iboza.  Your username may differ from your email address, depending on when the domain name for your email address was created.

4b. Enter your password as provided to you by iboza.

4c. For POP Server, enter 'mail.{yourdomain}' where {yourdomain} is replaced with the domain name attached to your email address.  For example: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it would enter mail.example.com here.

4d. If you would like to distinguish email coming from this account with your regular gmail account, click the checkbox Label imcoming messages.

4e. Click Add Account.

5. If you would like to also send mail using your iboza provided email address, choose Yes, I want to be able to send mail as {your email address}.  Click Next Step.

6. Enter the name you would like others to see when sending email from this email address.  Click Next Step.

7a. Select the option Send through {yourdomain} SMTP servers.

7b. For SMTP Server, enter 'mail.{yourdomain}' where {yourdomain} is replaced with the domain name attached to your email address.  For example: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it would enter mail.example.com here.  This is identical to step 4c.

7c. Change Port to 587 if not already set.

7d. Enter your username as provided to you by iboza.  Your username may differ from your email address, depending on when the domain name for your email address was created.  This is identical to step 4a.

7e. Enter your password as provided to you by iboza.

7f.  Change option to Secured connection using TLS (recommended) if not already set.  Click Add Account.

8.  Google will send you an email to the account with a unique number to enter.  Leave this window open and go to your gmail account.

9. Open the email in your inbox labeled Gmail Confirmation.

10.  Inside the email you will find a similar code to the one highlighted in the image below.  Copy or write down this number.

11. Back on the setup window, enter the code from the previous step into the text box.  Click Verify.

12.  Your account should now be set up.  Gmail will create a seperate area for email to this account in the left bar.  Email to this account will also appear in your inbox.

13.  When writing mail, select the account you wish to use in the From drop down box.
